Volunteer Opportunities

Southern Nevada Children First (SNCF) is a non-profit organization whose focus is on homeless, pregnant, parenting youth and young adults between the ages of 16-25. The mission of SNCF is to “strengthen the lives of children and families.” Since 2007, SNCF have been addressing the long-term housing, education, financial, mental, physical and behavioral health needs of homeless, pregnant, parenting youth and young adults.

SNCF is honored to have your interest in joining us as we combat homeless youth issues in Nevada! There are several approaches and ideas for us to join forces in becoming more useful for those in the community. You may become a volunteer Educational Instructor, volunteer for a day of service, or facilitate a community service project. We are always in search for dedicated, hardworking individuals like who are willing to help.

Education Instructor

Southern Nevada Children First (SNCF) offers more than just transitional living.  SNCF has comprehensive homeless, pregnant, parenting youth and young adult programs that were designed to provide a variety of quality services, educational tools, activities, and unique experiences for all participants to discover their interest while achieving their highest potential. The intervention programs possess a strong educational component that is focused on ensuring the progress of our client’spath toself-sufficiency. Youth are able to participate in class learning at our community resource center which opensfrom 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.

Southern Nevada Children First is always looking for dynamic facilitators to teach classes on a variety of subjects in ways that empower, educate and motivate our youth.

Day of Service

Volunteers are always needed to help perform administrative duties, assistance with the upkeep and maintenance of our facility, painting and organization of our warehouse and donations

Community Service Projects

Southern Nevada Children First is always in need of resources to assist as many youth as possible. If time permitswe are looking for volunteers to hosta community service project. There is power in numbers,gather your social club, church, family, and or friends and host a fundraiser.

Some service project ideas include:

  • - Diaper Drive
  • - Gift Card Drives
  • - Toiletries Drive

1)      For all interested positions Please download the volunteer agreement and application (Volunteer Application). If interested in instruction please add the instructors’ application to your packet (Potential Facilitator and Education). 2)       Please complete all forms in the packet and make an appointment for background screening, if necessary. Please send your Volunteer Application Form and your Confidentiality Form to Michelle Gold or Sybil Jones by fax at (702) 463-5684 or through U.S. mail to 720 W Cheyenne #30 NLV, NV 89030. Please attach a copy of your current ID. If you do not feel comfortable with that, you can deliver it to our administration office (address above). Please note that all information we receive is kept confidential. 3)      Once Southern Nevada Children First receives your application with supplemental documents you will be contacted by a staff person to be set up for volunteer orientation. *Please note that this process will take about two weeks.
